We are always on the lookout for talented lawyers to join our Tokyo office and we recruit across all our practice areas (antitrust and competition; corporate; dispute resolution; employment/labour; finance; and real estate).
International candidates must speak fluent English, and Japanese is advantageous. Bengoshi lawyers with a strong grasp of English will be particularly valuable to us. They should be admitted to practise in a relevant jurisdiction (Japan, a major European country, key US states, Australia, etc) and have worked in private practice or in-house on matters and transactions relevant to the position applied for.
As well as offering technical excellence, we aim to understand our clients' business needs and work closely with them as a team.
If you are going to work for us you will need more than outstanding academic qualifications - we are looking for people who have a broad range of skills and a good record of achievement in other areas. So, for instance, you will need to have common sense - as well as the ability to think creatively. We do not just offer technical excellence: we aim to understand our clients' business needs and work closely with them as a team. We are creative and commercial in our advice. We strive to make an impact both in our legal work and in other areas, such as community activities.
