About Freshfields in the Middle East
Freshfields has a long history and a well-established presence in the Middle East and north Africa (MENA). However, our offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, and our alliance firm in Saudi Arabia, are among the newest in the network. This gives them an entrepreneurial edge and vibrancy unique to the jurisdictions in which they operate.
Currently, we have over 40 lawyers in the Middle East and, in addition to our own lawyers (many of whom are bilingual English/Arabic), we have built up a network of local law firms across the region to advise on local law issues. We are the only magic circle law firm in Bahrain and are regarded as having one of the most significant and high-profile international practices in the Kingdom.
Our four principle practice areas are: (i) finance, covering the full range of international and domestic finance activities, including in the transport and infrastructure, construction and property development, oil and gas and renewable energies sectors; (ii) corporate, including mergers and acquisitions (public and private), privatisations, joint ventures, securities offerings, regulatory, funds and private equity; (iii) real estate, providing an integrated service across the network to clients working in all aspects of commercial real estate, acting for those operating within and outside their own country and advising on cross-border transactions; and (iv) dispute resolution, where our team leads the field in resolving disputes through litigation and arbitration.
