International applicants
The majority of our Russian corporate and financing transactions are structured through offshore holding companies and documented under English law. So, although we work closely with our London office on many transactions, we also need common law experts on the ground in Moscow. We act for many Russian issuers raising capital on international markets, so we need lawyers who can advise on securities regulation in the EU and the US.
We welcome applications from skilled lawyers, qualified to practise in a common law jurisdiction, with experience from a leading law firm. You don't need to speak Russian but it would be an advantage.
Our foreign lawyers work on transactions with their Russian colleagues and usually focus on drafting and negotiating the key transaction documents governed by English law, allowing the Russian lawyers to concentrate on the Russian legal aspects of the transaction. Lead roles depend on the client's preferred language.
Training for foreign lawyers
All foreign lawyers in Moscow are given the chance to take individual Russian lessons in the office, up to four times per week.
